This Alocasia is a beautiful dwarf variety with leaves that have a significant amount of black coloration on the leaf surface. The leaves look and feel velvety on their surface and have coppery color on the underside. This plant likes high light but will do reasonably well in 80% shade. It is the perfect table top plant.

Hardiness Zone - 9-10. This is a tender plant and will not tolerate frost.
Bloom - Not significant.
Winter – Below 45 Fahrenheit the plant may go dormant.
Mature Height - This plant will grow to 12-18”
Sun - Prefers bright light, but will tolerate shade.
Water – Let the soil slightly dry between watering.
Fertilizer - Use a balanced fertilizer at a moderate rate.
Soil – Alocasia Black Velvet needs good quality potting soil – containing bark, perlite and peat moss
Container - This is an excellent container plant.
